Twenty three years after his debut, Beenie Man continues his reign at the top of modern reggae/dancehall with Undisputed, his fourteenth album. This time around, Beenie Man has tapped several hot young talents from the world of American R&B, including Akon and Brooke Valentine. While some may see this move as a plea for mainstream acceptance, Beenie Man holds nothing back on his end, coming on aggressive, melodic, and soulful throughout the entire album. The cover image of Beenie Man as a champion boxer, along with the album’s title, are more than appropriate, as he sounds like an individual who is creatively hungry and competitive.
